lyrics
I’m a scavenger bird
I’ve learned and unlearned
What it is I think I deserve
It’s only chance
That I should enjoy what I’ve earned
Just before night
Hovering five feet from the earth
Caught in a shroud
Trying to stand out in the murk
In the dew dropped morning
Clouds will cry
I’ll be none the wiser for staying inside
I’m a scavenger bird
I soar and search
Carrying my wings of worth
Looking for dead leaves
Or little specks of iridescent dirt
In the cold damp morning
Flowers will sigh
I'll be none the wiser
For staying inside
I’m a scavenger bird
Trying to discern
What to keep and what to burn
A little piece there
And something to spare for the worms
And then I’ll be off
Ready or not
Moving with the evening fog
Like getting pulled with the crowd
Can’t feel the ground
but you don’t try to make it stop

This album can transport you to a fun place with Leon Bridges singing and Khruangbin supporting him with their fantastic music. I love everything about this vinyl and am so glad I got the lunar press! Thank you all so much! Michelle May

I think it's difficult to write songs about something other than romantic love, and still be able to communicate the intensity with which those feelings can hit a person. Some of the entries on this album are fantastic examples of this niche. dani_bloop

This Nashville trio make ultra-catchy indie rock (in the '90s sense of the term) with taut musicianship and a freewheeling spirit. Bandcamp New & Notable Feb 2, 2021
